Here in the UK, farming land is $5,000 an acre. If you happen to have a piece of land that has planning permission (house building) you can expect to pay between 1.7 and 2.2 million dollars an acre. Needless to say - we don't own any. (Or I'd sell it!!!)

Which is one of many reasons we are planning to move to Texas - the other reasons being me, the female half is a US citizen and has lots of family back there.

Farm land around here goes from $2,500 up per acre. That is what farmers are paying for crop land. If you want a small "acreage" to live on the sky is the limit.

"River is a little less - around $10,000 per linear foot."

Jeeze, and I just listed a 11.5 acre lot with a quarter mile of river frontage for $55,000. That includes electric and a well. Maybe I should do some more figgerin.
