I built mine on 4 x 6 treated posts set in concrete just like you would build a pole barn. I set them 8ft oc and inset the outside posts 1.5 in all the way around to have a platform to build from that was exactly 16 x 32. I stick framed it and covered the outside with t&g white cedar. The one thing that I did do was put a full 32 foot 8 foot wide porch on the down hill side and covered it with green metal roofing like the cabin great covered space that makes the cabin seem twice as big. I have posts down the center like a bearing wall and end up with the largest span of 8 ft. on the floor joists which keeps the price down. The posts on the porch extend thru the deck to the roof rafters. If I had to do something different I would have gone with interior finished SIP's for the exterior walls.

Got them this time. Thanks.

Looking at the pics I can't tell if you have the floor insulated and boxed in or not. Kinda looks like it but..

what state (climate) are you located in?

We are in Wyoming. The floor is insulated and covered with a plywood.
There is no plumbing. It is my husband"s studio right now.

I have looked at it again and it looks like the plywood was cut to fit inside and on the flanges of the TJI's. I would then assume that the insulation sits on top of the plywood. There is no wiring in the floor either.
