I don't see any chow either. Most shelters go:
Shepherd cross
Pit cross
poodle cross
chow cross
lab cross
a'cross' (lol) the board. most have a lot more than that in them. I'd say maybe newfie, maybe spaniel but who knows.
Chows are wonderful dogs, but can't be pushed around like a lot of breeds. Positive training is a must. I personally prefer a more people oriented dog, but my people oriented breed can drive non doggie people batty. All depends on what you like..
If she's got an excellent temperament, and is as cute as the picture she'll be wonderful. I've thought of heading off to the shelter myself in search of a 'shepherd cross' for a farm dog.
