Two big Dobies

Hi Y'all,

We have two big Dobies.

Thor is a Red, Oversized Male, goes about 110#, is laid back &
loves us both.

Brandi is a big Red Female, goes about 90#. She's kinda hyper.
We got her from the Dobie Rescue , When we lost our other
big male named Freyr. We've had her about 6 months.
She's getting to love us both also.

We do not socialize them. We crate them whenever we have Company.
They are both okay with Folks. But...........better safe than sorry.
Both are good companion dogs, following me all around the place,
through my day.(I'm retired). I wouldn't have anything but Dobies.
I had Greyhounds for about 10 years, a few. Great dogs, but.....
I love my Dobies & they are both very, very spoiled.

Anyone who had read my posts knows I have 2 Corgis, one unfixed to pee everywhere, and his brother, the most useless 40 lb pile of dogflesh ever. I kid.....he is used to chase his brother, and follow us all over the place, and keep the ground warm near his brother. At least you always know where he is!

So how many Corgis is that on the site? 6? Those little guys keep multiplin' I'll bet my boy is the best at catching things!!

Currently without a Rottie for the first time in 23 years. Mabelene is a 10 year old American Bulldog who's been there and done that. Ember is a 5 month old Renascence Bulldog who lives to torment the old girl and be as much of a hooligan as she can get away with.

one standard poodle female- a year old. Good dog, still working on training with her. (in a very relaxed way)
two toy poodles, one male one female. Both still not a year old. Might get another in a month or so.
I like them very much.
Little over a year ago, my very best dog died suddenly, a german shepard girl. Loved her, still miss her.
Over the last 25 years, have had a variety of shelter dogs, at first, they lived a long time, then when realized husbands allergies were getting much worse, I got poodles. They dont bother him as much as my g.s. did. When I first bought her home, I didn't realize he had asthma, since he smoked like a locomotive, all coughing he did & sneezing, I attributed to smoking. I figured the sneezing was increased sensitivity to 'stuff' in the air. Plus, he'd never admitted to having asthma, guess it was a sign of 'weakness' to admit something like that. I never saw him with an inhaler, etc. He began using on less than a year ago, because, I guess with age, your body (or his) doesn't react as well to allergies, and they get stronger.
My dogs dont 'do' anything for our place, except hang around. I like them.
Sherry

90 lb Yellow Lab, 90 lb German Wirehaired Pointer. Both are family house dogs - big couch potatoes! They also hunt and love being in the field. The yellow lab is our "alert dog" - she will bark if someone comes to the door or on the property. The pointer is just a big love, super with people and kids. (He is death on cats and any "game")

I didn't realize so many people had more than 2 dogs....hmmmmm. I've thought about another, but figured I should save room just in case a dog finds us and needs a home.

Current canine residents;

three beagles, working dogs for my 17 year old son, cared for by him. various ages, varying degrees of common sense for real life, but good hunters, except for the one who's too fat
1 whippet/mix from the pound, DD fell in love with as a pup,two weeks before leaving for college. Has metal hips/sockets etc, thanks to her amazing ability to catch the State park rangers pickup truck. At 5 years old, now, she's slowing down and has thankfully stopped trying to outrun motor vehicles.
1 cocker- blond, beautiful and smart, incredibly adept at keeping the farm/animals/people safe. She herds up the chicks in the evening. Has distinctive barks that mean different things. Came to us when an elderly aunt moved to assisted living.

Mid afternoon, my front porch looks like something from Hee Haw, with the sleeping pooches all about...
