We have two english springer spaniels, both female, fixed ages 3 and 6. The little one is the alpha dog and the big one has not a mean bone in her entire body. little one is 35 pounds and big one is double that and bred for hunting birds.

Aussies

We have 3 females and one male. Just had a litter of 7 pups; only one left. She is 7 years old and had 6 girls and one boy. We love Aussies; nothing else compares for an all around farm dog. Very good with kids too. Check out the ASCA website to find out about this wonderful breed. We guarantee you that you won't be sorry if you end up getting one.

We have three dogs~ Sophie a 12 yr old pit/chow mix, Luna a 7 yr old wolf/husky mix, and Quill a 2 1/2 yr old wolf/husky mix. They're all very spoiled and very sweet. Got Sophie from a Southern CA shelter as a 6 wk old pup and had to really fight to get her out alive due to her breed. We adopted Quill last Aug. and she's sure brought new life to our little pack. We got Luna, my soul dog, as a pup on one of our trips out here to MT before we moved here.
We also share our home with one kitty, Catman, 12 yrs old ,and seven five week old chickens.

We've got a big dopey Newfoundland, chocolate colored (breeders call it bronze) with one white paw. His name is Seamus. Not a mean bone in his body and my best buddy. He loves everyone...goats, cats, pig, horses, donkeys, and especially chickens. Let's just say that no one feels the same way towards him. So he has to settle for love from his humans. He's not quite a year and a half old and still growing...probably 125lbs. right now.

And we're waiting to get our corgi puppy. Should be ready to leave his mum around the beginning of June. He'll be our third corgi, all 3 have been male red and whites. Seamus will be thrilled to have a playmate. But all too soon the corgi will rule the world

I have 4 dogs- beagle (he's the boss), a lab/retriever mix, a chocolate lab/husky cross, and a mastiff/lab cross- he weighs 120+ lbs (longearsfarm his name is Seamus too, and he's a doofus!). They're all inside dogs

I agree that it can take a lab forever to grow up. The lab/retrieiver mix was awful for the first 2 years now he's the best dog I've ever had.

I have two rottweilers. They are littermates. Scarlett is a giant couch potato, fat and loveable. She's very well mannered and loves kids. And then there is Bonnie, she was the runt female from the litter (12 pups in all). She still has a puppy face but does everything in a big way. She'll climb right up into your lap to give you lotsa love, but she is always the first one to investigate if there is even a hint of trouble.

Dogs

I recently had to put down the best darn dog I ever had! Tasha was a border colie who adopted us. I guess she knew her previous owners were gonna get rid of her, so she ran away. At the gas station, I opened the door to let the kids get in, and she joined the line and jumped in too! Needless to say, she got to stay and she earned her keep from day one.
We still have two Mini Pinchers (Mimi and Milo) best little snake killers I've ever seen. Last weekend they got a 4 foot snake.
Then there's the Border collie puppy (Buzz) we got to work around our place. Lastly is a pound puppy (Winston) the boys got when we went to the pound to get a barn cat. once we got him cleaned up he turned out to be a nice cocker spaniel that is already house trained. He is good with the poultry, but doesn't like the cows comming too close to the house.

We have four Border Collie mixes - Huck, Tippy, Bonnie and Molly. Huck is smart as they come, Tippy is a Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix...smart and a ball of energy. Bonnie and Molly are sisters. Their mom was a full-blooded collie and we believe the Dad must have been a German Shepherd. They're both great dogs.

Our other dog is a Black Lab mix - Tom. Not so bright, but he has a heart of gold. He's been recovering from injuries sustained when the mail lady ran over him back in January. Six surgeries later he's doing great!

All our dogs are indoor/outdoor dogs. They stay outside during the day and are in the house at night.

We've got 2: Auggie, who is 1/2 bear, 1/2 lion, and 1/2 Samoyed (I think). He's about 100lbs. King of the forest, full of kindness and dignity, with a woof like Barry White. Sometimes, he actually says "Woof."

And we have a blue merle Australian Shepherd named Shona, who is exceedingly submissive, and therefore so irritating! She is far more trainable than Auggie, but when they docked her tail they sure took away some of her backbone.

Both were rescues, one from the pound, one via the Aussie rescue website.

Next dog we get might be an English shepherd.

Currently we have a Blue Merle Collie... was excellent on the farm with the critters, and was the guardian/babysitter for every baby that we had there from goat kids to ducklings. They would all nap on him and his big bushy tail. Shilo, is often refered to as "my dog son".

Jessee is a pup that I found in the middle of winter in a ditch in a box. ****zu/ wirehair dachsund (?) mix type... funny looking to me, but a total sweetheart and the only small dog we've had.

May be adopting a border collie soon... one of my all time favorite farm breeds.

Nice pics everyone! I have 3 male mixed breeds from the same male & female, but from different litters. They are total mutts. Mom was a yellow lab/airedale & dad was a shep/rott. They are truely Heinze 57s! Because, or despite of thier VERY mixed lineage, they are intelligent, healthy, loyal, obedient,& protective.Great dogs!

150 pounds of hair and slobber... my Newfoundland, Sebastian. Doesn't know a stranger and is the official greeter for the place. He thinks everyone who comes to the door is here to see him.

Wow, I'd love very much to pick the dogs I have, but we have dogs that we have rescued from ditches and didn't have the heart to, or were unable to, pass them on to other homes. They are very nice dogs, but I'd love to pick a little female, cute and cuddly---seems these aren't dumped on our road.

LOVE the James Herriot books. If you like those, look for Jeanine McMullens books too. You all have such photogenic dogs! By the time I get the camera figured out, mine always seem to be right up next to the lens wiping their wet noses all over it!
