find a comfy place to sit for the nght with a freind and have 3 or 5 laser sights in your hands... in the darkness, peer thru your bimoculars till you see the tresspassers... then point all 3 to 5 lasers on them.

a bunch of red dots on my chest would make me wet my pants.

Around here, if I do not post beware of dog i am less likely to be liable for a dog bite or in my case dog bites. I think if you tresspass you deserve to be dog bit. If I have no tresspassing signs, the law or game warden can prosecute if they are caught on your land(moultry cameras come into play) I had problems with deer hunters cutting my fence and driving their atvs on my farm. Oops, I spilled tack and nails all along the fence lines Darned ole rocks, lost my footing and they just fell out. After a few flat tires, well it gets real expensive trying to keep tires on those things. I also asked around and wanted to know who it was. Be careful doing that, hind sight I wouldn't have done that. I was so po that I lost my sense.(I have little to start with)

I don't like over hunting my plce so I hunt over on Public Land just a few days on my place durring the season.

Well this last Turkey Season I hunted couple days on my place, seen this Mennonite on there,I run him off thought that was that.Well I was hunting over on Public Land not having any luck.

Well last of the season I was hunting on my place, didn't hear or see a bird one Thought this awful strange.Gave up went on up on the road caught a ride with a neighbor,he told me the Mennonites cleaned all the Turkeys out on my place

These Guys just moved in last Fall, their not like the ones that have lived here for years. My place is Posted and I did call the Conservation Agent.I really don't think there is much he can do.

cheep guards

got an idea for you...
what if you hand raised some roosters to eat at night and respond to the rattling of leaves. Place these in a portable coop near the fences that get cut most... when these people come onto your land, the birds will hear the rattling leaves, think its you and raise a fuss... your dog up by the house will bark and move towards the noise... set off a motion light and scare everyone away.

once the problem is solved - have a nice chicken dinner or two and enjoy the sunsets with your dog by the house.

The cameras and a dog are your best bet. Don't worry about being sued if the dog bites someone or they break their ankle running from it. No matter what all the urban legends say, a person committing a criminal act cannot sue for damages caused by a legal act. Basically that means you can't set mantraps.

But a dog biting someone is not a legal act. Laws on this vary greatly form state to state. Tire shredders work great. Had someone coming o my place withot asking. Put some nails thru a pair of old mudflaps and buried them in about an inch of sand. Nails were sticking up about 2 inches. Had fun looking at the flat tire tracks leaving. All 4 flat and only 1 spare. Found there vehicle down by the highway. Thought about calling the sheriff but figured they had enough problems with having to make so many trips to town to fix all those tires. Never had them come back.

Sorry to say, we're not living in the 1950's anymore, and crimnals do sue and win even while commiting a crime................

There is a hunting grounds just in back of our property - nobody has actually cut our fences, but once in awhile somebody has cut through our field, even though posted. However, we have a 17 hand, 1800 lb. horse who will charge at full gallop toward a strange person in our field. I don't think he would actually hurt them, but nobody has stuck around to find out !! He also ran off a pack of wild dogs who were harassing a neighbors' old horse, then made the mistake of running into our pasture. It was the middle of the night, all we heard was galloping hooves and yelping dogs. They never came back again. How about a guardian horse ??

Many states and counties have Farm Dog or Working Dog exemptions. This means my dogs' bites are legally exempt from prosecution or civil suit if done while performing their duties of protecting livestock and property from harm or damage.

Geese also work well. I understand Eqyptian geese are very aggressive and territorial.

You must be a nice person. If I find a vehicle like that, it would have a few more problems. Nothing major, of course. But certainly something so that once the tires were fixed, it wouldn't go anywhere under it's own power. You'd be surprised how folks react to a little sugar dumped on the ground near the gas filler.

SOP for handling trespassers here is to reach for the .30-06 or .308 w/ 20 rd mag. You don't have to shoot at them to encourage them to leave. Sometimes just looking at them through the scope seems to hurry their departure.
