Northern BC

For $40,000 USD or less you can get a Quarter Section. For $95,000 CDN you can get a three bedroom house/log cabin -- older and a Quarter, with 100 acres in hay, and 20 acres of pine.

Where? Northern BC, around Chetwynd, BC -- voted best small community under 25,000. Chetwynd has 3,000 people -- new coal mine, two lumber mills, and pulp mill, 90 km to Tumbler Ridge -- re opening coal mine -- cheap houses three years ago in town went for $25,000 for a fancy town type three bedroom and basement -- now they shot up, And lots of low priced Hydro power from the dam near Hudson's Hope, BC, lots of wild.

They don't call it, Beautiful BC for nothin'.

I live in No. California, Siskiyou County, 30 miles from the Oregon border. There's still reasonable property up here though it has been going up. Ouite a few retirees moving from So. CA and the Bay Area. It's a quiet, friendly, safe area. Weather is not severe. Mt.Shasta gets snow but I'm 25 miles north of there and have never had more than 2 or 3 inches. Ashland, OR, mentioned before, is beautiful but very pricey. For 200,000 you could get a condo. We have the same weather as So.OR and it's not rainy here.
