Well don't have a picture of the house to share, but here's a couple of good ones of the yard:
The rest are here:

I loved seeing everyone's pictures!!! And RockPile, your photo almost looked like a postcard, nice filter on the picture. Looks like it should be a painting.

Cindy in KY, I just checked out your site, being curious since I live in KY too. We are extreme Northern KY. Very nice place you have. I really enjoyed all the pictures. Love the miniature horses. It's a dream of mine to have a herd of them someday. Terriv this is a great idea. I love looking at other's places. If you'd like to see mine go to my website. Once there you can see the pics of the farm by scrolling down to the Farm Scene links. Hopefully you all don't have dial up modem like we do...takes forever to load these pictures. Here's the url to my site.

This is the house we're building, the 'funny lookin' thang' on the right is the right is the sun porch on our ol' travel trailer, it will be gone when the house is done...

This is the kitchen, in progress

Our finished bedroom, all yard sale except the on-sale flooring and on-sale paint

Hey, you stole my house! No kidding (except ours is 2 stories), even our roof is identical and the french doors are in the same spot and we have the same flooring in the bedroom. I love the farmhouse look. Yours is more finished than ours, though. You have a great place!

Alex, everytime I see your barley fields, I keep meaning to ask, did you make a profit on those fields? I don't know much about barley. Did you have a direct buyer or sell through a co-op. Are you doing barley again this year?

Don't you just hate it when someone makes a thread
really long with alot of the same pictures?
Alex. Nice place!
Your pic certainly doesn't go with this kind of house...
I see you living in the country club with a pool in your backyard.

Profit What's that
This was a first year Barley field, this year we will plant it to hay with another nurse crop of Barley. Make a profit -- I don't think so, lots spent on clearing and working the fields. However, over the next seven years, should be a steady return, hopefully. Weather is a big factor.
We planted this Barley late, and cut it in August, then it rained, and snow on it, finally in November we got, by amazing luck, 49 bales -- 1,500 lb. each. Should have got 150 to 200.
But, that we baled in November was UNHEARD of!

Fourth Bales November 2004

Wettest year in 40 years, the Green Feed was good, the ground was frozen, just enough to hold the tractors, and yet the hay was OK, never before heard of.
The person doing the baling, Francis, bought the green feed.

Moberly Lake
Hello Alex
Those pictures bring back memories. I spent 6 months in Chetwynd and my Uncle has a farm between Chetwynd and Dawson Creek. I am a transplanted Canadian and I keep telling my friends here in Wyoming that they have not seen a big moose until they vist your area!

Hmmm . . . yes I had all that too: pool, Royal Vancouver Yacht Club – not country club, had to try it.
Is the picture below better? Me breaking with John Deer Model D, and manual plow -- did this too, this is much more fun -- really:

Me on 1930 (?) 'D' Breaking (First Time Plowing) 30 acres on original Homestead
Maybe I should change my Avatar to the above – then you would be happier.

They say: "You can take the girl out of the Peace River Country, but you can't take the Peace River Country out of the girl." Sure, come on back, and fulfill all your dreams and desires -- it runs deep doesn’t it.
Sorry to be so romantic, but there is no cure, except to be here and let life flow thru and around you – never knowing that even an instant of time went by – yet living peaceful lifetimes each second. Love the Peace; pools and yacht clubs don’t begin to compare.
