Hey ZYG-

I bought the wooden, hand-carved sign from a woman on eBay. She carved it herself, and it is 2 pieces, held together with pegs. Very high quality! I painted and lettered it myself.

We have a sign for our farm with the phone number on it. Which but have the phone number on it makes it a Business and your Phone Co, can and will change your phone to a Business Phone. We know They did it to us. It is a Federal Law that any Number on a sign, Bussiness card or stationary makes it a advertisment for Bussiness.

Hi,

I have a farm sign, no one ever bothers me, so guess they really don't care much what is going on up the hill and through the woods.

We used to pass a farm that had a sign I liked. It said....

HARRIS FARM
Purveyers of fine scrub cattle, Texas fire ants, and some stray dogs.

I love this, keep telling DH I'm gonna paint us one.

Halo

At the end of our lane is a sign that reads "Muller's Lane Farm". We're on a dead end and there is a farm across the road from us. Since we do farm tours, it saves the neighbors from getting unwanted guests.

Beware of the Biting dog. When they ask about him WE put him up during the Day and turn him out at night.

Along with the standard no hunting or trespassing signs and purple paint I have a few in different spots around the property.

"WARNING: maximum security area-authorized personnel only-no trespassing"
"WARNING: protected by automatic alarm system"(which it is)
"NOTICE - this area is monitored by remote cameras" (which it is)
"WARNING: security area - identification must be worn at all times"
"WARNING: deadly force is authorized beyond this point" (looks just like the ones they have on the perimeter of sensitive military or govt properties)
"DANGER-STOP-authorized personnel only beyond this point

All are in red, black and white on heavy metal signs and look very professional.

I like yours comfortablynumb. I may use it.

About 15 years ago, a friend opened a hair salon & I made her sign. I just used outdoor latex enamel, but splurged for a piece of MDF sign board. Using the right surface made all the difference. The sign still looks good.

We don't have a farm sign at our place - no need to encourage unexpectedd visitors. A few years ago, soap customers showed up unannounced on a Saturday morning when hubby was sitting at the picnic table in his undies having coffee. We don't need a repeat of that.

Hey.

I chiseled our farm name into a gigantic boulder.

If I had a farm business then I would definitely have a nice sign. But since DH works in the tax dept we keep as little information as we can on our property!

Any GOOD oil based enamel would work.

Mine is a vinyl decal on aluminum:

When DH (dec) and I raised miniature donkeys, we had the nicest farm sign. Early in my widowhood, however, I reasoned it wasn't very smart to draw attention to myself or my place. Gave it to the customer who bought the donkey depicted on the sign.

NeHi

P.S. Those who included pics of their signs - all very nice!

I will have to take a picture to post. My sign is white with hunter green lettering and border. It has a picture of a man in a straw hat kneeling and gardening and right behind his back a rooster is pulling up what's being planted. The lettering says "Menagerie Farm". I have a variety of poultry, peacock, horses and lots of pets. I don't do any business from the farm. But I too, always wanted the farm and the sign to hang out front! Keep dreaming, it'll happen. Mary.

Vista print does some nice vinyl signs for pretty cheap. Only has stuff on one side but think I picked up two out door quality signs for under $30.

Only signs I have up is "No Trespassing " , "No Soliciting" and Private property. I did have a length of " police line, do not cross" tape across my porch a few years ago that I found on the ground at the wrecker yard but the deputy down the road made me give it to him. Now that tape really did keep strangers away for the month I had it strung across my porch

two signs...one is a wooden sign with the words burned into it. The top says "swede farm" and then linked below by short sections of chains are smaller signs that say 'milk', 'yogurt', 'kefir'.

We also have a metal sign that says "swede Farm" and below that the name of our town and our phone number.

We got the main sign of the wooden set when we just wanted one for decoration. The metal sign we bought for our pens when we show goats. The smaller wooden signs we added when we started to sell at farmers markets to show what products we had.

Same here, which is why our sign hangs on a locked gate! Just got hubby a new metal sign to put on one of the gate posts. It says: DOG FRIENDLY BEWARE OF OWNER. The other gate post has our wildlife refuge sign on it.
