as has already been pointed out coyotes (like all wild animals) are seasonal breeders. that is no coyote. in fact if you hadn't come along it probably would have been coyote chow.
enjoy your puppy. don't worry about what it's background is. unless you saw the deed done you really can't tell by looks or personality.

Here in western New York,we were told by the animal control gal that stray dogs will and do breed with coyotes and fox.We had a big problem last spring with what was decided to be just that!A wild mutt!
