A few years back, I had to put my faithful companion Teddy down.
After 13 years he had become aggressive towards my son's best friend, and my daughter's also. (He had known them each since he was a puppy.)
Then he nipped dd, as she pulled him away from her girlfriend.

I stayed with him at the Vets untill the end. I cried for 3 hours straight, and was sad for a long time. the sadness and tears are good- they are evidence of your fine character. You will feel better.

What a lovely poem Wags, thanks for sharing!.

k grandmaison, I am sorry for your loss. I too teared up reading this and knowing someday I will also probably need to make the decision you did. I don't know how we will cope with losing our best friend but I know we will have to. We will always have the memories of our beloved pets to cherish and the knowledge that we gave them the best lives we could.

k grandmaison,

Sorry to hear about your dog. It always hurts, even when you know it's the right thing.

K,
So sad to hear you lost your good friend. Huggs and tears for you.

Wags, thankyou so kindly for posting that poem, I too loved my dog Anna and lost her to a car. Makes my cry reading that poem, good to know there are so many caring people out there.

You'll see her again,
All the best,

Anataq

im sorry for you loss. ive had to put down 2 faithful friends myself over the last 3 years and it broke my heart to do so. im sure you did right by your pup. find another unloved pet when youre ready and make her part of your family. it will help you both.
