I would give BooBoo a little codeine when it was really bad.Vet also has liquid Vicodin, they gave me I swear it seems a 55 gallon drum of the stuff when '11.5 lbs of Trouble' (Schon the Shih Tzu) had a cough.Very good pain relief thats for sure, but we use it on the animals rarely, only when they are really hurting from something.
I have a 500 year supply of the stuff,LOL :haha:

like country said, diamond is a good brand of dog food, and not as $$ as some of the others, glucosamine, like othes said, now if this were a short haired dog, i would reccomend the capsacin cremes, but shes not , so that wont help her ...
non buffered aspirin can help , if shes pudgy, and most home dogs are, help her lose even a couple of pounds will help her...
otherwise, let her in the house and remember that at 7 calendar years, your dog is already about 50 already...by the time she hits 10 thats roughly equal to 65. so she has a right to be a bit creaky

Keep their weight down, also think outside the box to get the price down. Jefferspet.com has an equine catalog also that sells joint health products. Glucosomine/Chondrioton with MSM is sold in a crumble, that can be put over your dogs food. We used it in our elderly goats feed. Moving to a more raw diet, turkey necks are inexpensive and work well for larger dogs, most dog foods are nothing but carbohydrates, adding to the fat our dogs carry.

I have a hard time with the blind study showing it didn't work, I take the trio daily starting late summer through early fall, my hands ache (probably from 18 years of milking) and also my hip, during the wet winters, the trio works. I would not want to be taking any pain reliever everyday for 5 months, which is what I would have to do without this trio.

If you are going to give your dog aspirin, and especially if it is everyday, add probiotics or yeast culture to the food daily. Vicki
