Years ago Court TV was following a case in California where the judge (militant female activist now on 9th circuit court of appeals) found for the victim (13 y.o. girl) in her abuse allegations against the parents when they took her cell phone and computer away after she had been caught sneaking out to meet/have sex with a 44 y.o. she met in a chat room. The parents were ordered to return her stuff, allow her to have a locking bedroom door, pay for file encryption software so she could secure her computer against their prying eyes, pay for a broadband connection upgrade, and to attend anger management training. The judge had sought to make them register as child abuse offenders but the states attorney tossed that one out.


Oh and in case you're wondering: the 44 y.o. pervert got nothing as he cut a deal to testify, with immunity, against the parents.

SouthernGirl, no kidding on that one. Tha case was from the the inner city of L.A. if I remember right. We were stationed there at the time but I don't remember the particulars.
