Well, living here in NY there are some stories of how cold it used to get back in the day. My Dad told me about one winter where it got so cold that he had to get up in the morning and build a small fire to thaw the fire in the wood stove out so that the house would warm up. That same winter it was so cold that when they tried to talk all the words froze in mid air then fell to the floor and shattered. Next spring all those shattered words started thawing out and the noise was so bad thay had to leave the house for a week. Of course the next summer got so hot that all the corn started popping right off the ears in the field. When the cows saw all that pop corn on the ground they thought winter had returned and three cows froze to death.
