Hey, this is what were putting on our house RIGHT now! Though not in the traditional sense.

First, sheets of OSB over the studs. Then house wrap. Then groved plywood. Then the strips. We just got our stain last night and ordered the plywood- it's coming Friday afternoon. I am so excited! I feel like it has taken us forever to get to this point! Well, in a way it has! ( As with most of us here! )

Anyway, I will post some pictures of the place when were done. Won't be for a while though.

Good Luck!
Holly in MO.

Likewise mine, my 1 1/2 story shed also. I got past the expense by watching for old barns folks wanted to be rid of. I've found that most of the barns in KY were poplar and oak. Sure, the boards were weather worn, but still solid. I passed on planing old lumber to save my planer knives, just used more paint and a longer knap roller. Job goes a lot faster is you paint/stain the boards and battens before nailing on the battens. Come back with a paint brush to touch up nail heads.
