I could look at your shelves all day. Absolutely beautiful. Good job.

We have a storage stall in the barn full of canning jars collected over 45 years and added to by jars inherited from a great aunt when she passed.

We always have enough jars for our needs and the surplus never seems to go down.

I only have about 100. Unfortunately, on an annual basis only about 15 get used. Our garden is not that productive and we prefer fresh vegs.

Today we canned 6 jars of blueberry jam. It was the last of last years crop. We also put 5 gals in the freezer from this years crop. We lay them on cookie sheets, freeze and then put into gallon bags for the freezer. My daughter loves to eat them as frozen snacks. Also have logan berries, raspberry. blackberry and marion berries. The berry patch is the most productive of our garden. It was not producing much (for us) until two years ago we started putting netting to keep the birds out. Now we have plenty.

Last time I counted (last year) I had over 600 jars and I know I have bought at least 20 dozen more.
It's hard to find a place for them all, we have shelves built under the kitchen counter that is and overhang, we have our extra bedroom turned in to a storage room. We live in a manufactured home so storage room is at a premium. I have an idea jars to build more storage shelves along a dining room wall.
Back when I was in my twenties (30+ years ago)I went to an estate sale and bought 400 of the old blue canning jars that had the zinc lids. When I move from WI to FL I gave my older sister all my jars. When I move to TN 10 years ago the first thing she said to me is "you aren't getting those jars back", I wonder if I could go steal them back

I built a couple cabinets in the garage to store empty quart jars. This one is 4' wide by 24" deep x 8' 6" tall. It holds about 60-70 jars per shelf, or about 650 jars.

Then a more narrow one for pints. It holds close to 500 pint jars.

One of the pantries we store filled jars.

Sadly I did not bring my canning jars when I left MT for AZ a few years back. So, I also, have had to purchase some virgins . They sure seem more expensive and there is quite a difference in price depending on where you purchase. I am always watching craigs list in my area for jars needing new homes as well. Right now I probably have only 200 jars

We have about 700. At any time, most are full.

Ours are a family thing, as we trade back and forth.

I figure about a thousand give or take a few.
