small in that there is less to clean and take care of,
but with that said,
it depends on what type of person one is, I am a pile-it, and a collector, and what ever space I have I have way to much in it, and no place to put it, it is organized (in my way), I blame it on not having enough storage, the truth is I have to much I want to store, (I see a value in most any thing or a possible future use).
but when I built a home for some friends, I lived in a old RV, and it was neat and reasonable clean, (but I did not have all my stuff), and it did have a lot of storage, for what I did have, but I think it is a lot on type of person you are, and what your willing to live with, if you stack it up and fill it to the point one can not move, it will be a mess, nearly regarless, of how clean one is, but if it is reasonably clear of clutter and your at all a house keeper my guess it is it will be clean looking,
and some also depends on what is in the room and how it is arranged,
for example we have a fellowship hall at church, if all the tables are picked up and all the chairs and it is empty from wall to wall, it has to be extremely clean to look clean, one small paper on the floor or other makes the entire room look poor, but if some tables are set up and some chairs at them the room can actually have a lot of mess in and on the floor and it is not noticed as much, as there is some thing to distract ones eye from the single candy wrapper that makes the empty room look in need of cleaning,
Even in looking at a houses. a house with appropriate type and amount of display furniture in it will sell before an empty house, if all things are equal.
also as far as ease to clean, is a lot of the type of home décor, one chooses, say you choose typical victorin style,

and then there modern

the victorian is a lot of stuff and cluttered in a since, where a modern style is usually less furniture, less clutter and open and clean lines, I would think the typical modern would be physical easier to clean, but with that said the Victorian could probably actually be dirtier and yet look cleaner, kind of like the fellowship hall example,
