It depends on your area I suppose. The man across the road mows a bunch of quarter acre yards for $50 each and I think people are insane to pay him that much for such small yards.

If this is going to be a regular thing I would just reach a per hour price no matter what he is doing and if you feel like you got a little better deal than maybe you should have at the end of the season or Christmas, given them another bonus check.

I only have a small lot though. I got a lot of other stuff to do in the yard transplanting ,dividing ,weeding. moving bricks. it's not easy in the heat. I don't know though if I can let anyone else work in my garden yet. (i'll probably have a heart attack) their prices for painting was 80 dollars per person per hour. ~Georgia.
Call a local temp agency. Temp help rates for unskilled labor run about double minimum wage around here, and often the people who are looking for jobs at one are wanting a hand up and not a hand out.

We have a wonderful 17 yr old young man who lives down the road from us, we pay him $10 an hour cash when he works for us. He is willing to do anything that needs done. He has stacked hay, helped clean up and chip wood after the storm we had here in Feb. He has helped put up chicken pens and hang gates. Best help I have ever had!
