Sadly, I have lived in a time when crockpots torch our food instead of slowly cooking them to make them tender, juicy and delicious. My first crockpot was a wedding gift in 1997 and it boiled my first roast I ever cooked in it. I know how they used to work and assumed if a new one works that way it is faulty.
