I stand corrected... the doc gave me ranitidine an told me it was same as pepcid but i looked iy up you are right...
doctors=guesswork in white coats.
the choke... well imagine if you will a small spasm that pinches the top of your stomach closed so no food can pass. then you have a few more forkfulls and it piles up and your esophogus revolts by trying to puke it up but the to half keeps trying to squeeze it down. the conflict of interest results in a massive charlie horse in your throat about 4 fingers down from your adams apple.
---- painfull.
if your lucky in a few min you can force a puke and clear it, or if your unlucky you end up in the ER and they have to paralize your esophogus and go in with a grabby thing on a rod and claw the now compacted unmoveable mass out.
my last trip involved a large chunk of deer meat.
I forgot, one must have tiny bites and...
"chew chew chew, it is the thing to doooooo.."
every bite followed by a sip if warm water or coffee aids to prevent the problem also.
I think "it has to be soup before it will flow" gross I know but hey it works.
if you constantly get heartburn at night lying down your cruisin for it. your ring muscle at the base of your esophogus has scared from acid burns and has a ring of hard tissue holdng it open and its not soft and tight shut like it should be.
they tale long plastic things that look like cue sticks and sword swallower fashion, shove 2 down your yap and move en back and forth to break the scar tissue and let your muscle close normally.
no it actually is a great relief and doesnt hurt. your so high when they do it you dont care if they pry your liver loose.
thats the point of prilosec is to reduce the acid production, thus less burns and less scars and it heals up. I dont find it heals the scar that needs dilated but hey.... you avoid esophogeal cancer from the burns.
if you have it very bad, every now and then while eating you burp and it all comes up in a suprise visit....
thats nature telling you youve put off the cue stick treatment to long.
dont neglect heartburn!
I lost 2 back molars from it, the enamel was desolved off them from the acid...
if you burn in bed, run do not walk to the doctor its common knowledge now and they treat it easy.
