Any PA members near me? zip code is 18657

Johnny Dolittle 02/18/15 06:15 PM

There is one but it is not me

ct01r 02/18/15 07:24 PM

It might be easier if you list your city/town instead of zip code. We're outside of Reading. Curt

TRellis 02/18/15 09:02 PM

That sounds like a Scranton zip code...

I used to live in Camptown, doodah doodah,. does that count? 18653. I miss the beautiful Susquehanna the green and the mountains but not the snowwww.

I still have friends in Towanda and used to go to the antique stores in Tunhkannock.
NEPA right Roadking?

Roadking 02/18/15 11:37 PM

Yup, y'all got me pegged...LOL!
"Locals" welcome, just give us a heads up. Granted, presently, weather conditions don't really allow for a setting in the gazebo. Spring, summer and fall...doors are open to those known. Just "call" first".

Yes Johnny Dolittle, we really are neighbors - as the crow flies.

For anyone wondering, we live near Summerville, PA which is close to Brookville, PA which is near Punxsutawney, PA - you know the rodent capital with their groundhog.

There is a lady that works in our dept- that commutes from Punxy every day- I know she doesn't make more than what I do- probably less actually- and I can not for the life of me see how she breaks even with that commute and the price of gas- 80+ miles ONE WAY!!!

Hey cool

Did you happen to see that Bald Eagle that was feeding on the road-killed deer...

It was just past the sign to Raybuck's auto body parts on Rt 536.

I have friends over near Rugh's Farm Supply

bja105 02/21/15 05:11 PM

No, but I id see an eagle at the farm a few years ago. I have heard of a lot of sightings around Mahoning lake.

Johnny Dolittle 02/21/15 05:18 PM

Are you self employed?

bja105 02/21/15 08:00 PM

No, I still work for The Man, doing hvac service in Pittsburgh. After this week, subsistence farming sounds like less work!

Johnny Dolittle 02/22/15 10:00 AM

At least you do not need to be worried about a lay off .... and your job is somewhat recession proof ....

AtomicFarmer 02/22/15 02:33 PM

Our farm is in Southern Allegheny County. Closest towns are Elizabeth and Monongahela.

lemonthyme7 02/22/15 10:33 PM

I'm in NW PA near Meadville.

Howdy neighbor!!!

We need to have a PA Homesteading Today meet and greet sometime - maybe in the mid part of the state. I tried to have one a few years ago, and the only that showed up was Johnny Dolittle!
