Open windows

Ours are open today...70 degrees with a bit of a breeze and bright sunshine. So nice to have fresh air!

That is the Oklahoma I know and love. I thought we were never going to see the sun again after so many gloomy days/weeks in a row.

Sun burn in February for me. great weekend to do outside work. no bugs, snakes or other critters. woohoo. now that it is Monday I am tired and not leaving my computer chair.

left everything open and even forgot to close some windows and didn't freeze in the morning. Lit the pinion wood had a beverage and now everything smells like santa fe.

75 outside with a great breeze -- sitting out on my screen "porch" (screen tent set up on my patio) with the kitties. Have the sliding door open and all the windows in the house cracked -- I wish I could open them all the way, but one of the cats is very inquisitive and will knock a screen right off the window in his bid to explore the great outdoors, so I can only open them just to the point where he can't fit his head through. Hopefully the fans will help with cross-ventilation.

We are ready for spring to come. After Christmas, January just drags on and on and on.
I keep wanting to start some plants from seeds. And the Amish plant peas a lot in February, so I have been thinking about doing that too. I figure loosing a few dollars on pea seeds won't hurt too much if it doesn't work.

Don't know where OP lives, but in S AL we try to space turning on heat or AC at least 24 hours away from opening windows. But this week we heat the house with heat pump at night, then with open windows/outside air from about 11 am until 5 pm when outside hits 70 but we're still 60 inside, then heat pump again if it's clear and going to drop below 40 again.

I've been able to open mine up a few days so far. We had a few 60* days in January which was really weird. It looks like it will be getting up to 60* again for a day to two this week.

We did a week or so back, it was in the 50's. Back in the 20's and soon to be lower. We "snag" the days we can in the winter to air out.

I air out my bedroom ever time the woodstove heats it beyond 66* - can't sleep if I'm too hot. Didn't think about that as airing it out, more as cooling it off, lol.

Now today....it finally got to 66* outside and sunny, so every window was open for several hours. It felt like Spring here! Smelled so good when I opened the first window and the fresh air blew in.
