Water is heated by hot water solar panels. No house heater, range is propane but only uses a five gallon bottle every third month.

The electric rates here are forty four cents a kilowatt hour. There's just under 4kW of photovoltaic solar panels on the roof other wise the electric would run about $300 a month, mostly because of running the hot tub. With the photovoltaic system, our average electric bill is $20 per month.

The electric bill in the non-AC months is around $55. For months running the AC, it ranges from $80 to $130. The highest month we ever had was $160 in June 2012 when we had record heat with several days in a row of over 100, which thankfully is as rare here as a day below zero. I heat primarily with wood with two propane fueled gas furnaces for backup. The hot water and cook stove are also propane fueled.

I just paid our power bill for december.... hundred twenty bucks. Our heat is all gas as well as the kitchen cook stove thanks to having our own natural gas well.
