Bummer! I had my response all written and apparently lost it prior to posting it
I honestly am not smart enough, nor do I know enough, to determine the rightness or wrongness of modifying the DNA of our food crops. I do not believe that any living being on this planet is smart enough to predict the outcome of such experiment's either. Based on my limited scientific knowledge I doubt that ingested, modified, foods will alter the DNA in our own cells...but I cant say I am sure it wont. I am more concerned about general playing around with the food chain...we do not know what the future holds and we seem unable to determine how our actions in the past have affected our crops today. Suppose twenty generations down the line we find that making corn roundup ready has caused the potato bug into extinction somehow cause maybe it used to feed on something that is no more due to roundup applications. It is one thing for God to make changes to our planet (being the all knowing dude that he is), and entirely another for one of us lower mammals to get the idea we know what on earth we are doing playing around with such as plant DNA. Over all, I am not fearful of eating such crops, though I choose to grow heritage for myself and my family...it has more to do with sustainability for me. So there you have my very slightly educated response. Every single cell, thought, whatever on this planet is connected by a fine web of creation. I am not certain we should be playing with it.
