I grew up Baptist. Saw an amazing amount of hypocrisy. Last straw was finding out my fundamentalist hubby was having an affair. Then he dumped me and the kids and ran off with his tennis coach, leaving us penniless.

Ouch. I've been burned by churches before too, but nothing quite like that. Glad to hear you've picked yourself back up and are finding some solace in permaculture... I see lots of evidence of the Creator in that field as well.

So sorry for you hurt and bad experiences. I don't put my faith in people, religion or churches; these things are not reliable. I put my faith in Christ - he is always faithful, and helps me to deal with the rest.
