Love them. I got some from Cabelas a few years ago - flannel and fleece lined. It is great not feeling the cold denim right on my legs.

I'm a sock junkie! If you're looking at socks, I think SmartWools are not as tough as they used to be, my heels are wearing out in one season. The thicker, reinforced ones do the best. But I am in love with the knee high women's reinforced socks made by Duluth, just ordered 3 more pairs. Don't know if they'll last longer, but I think so.

I love my SmartWools! I've been totally drawn into them for the last two years and I'm almost fully switched over. I still want a few more knee socks and heavy winter socks and then I'm set.

We love ours, here. DS and I wear fleece or flannel lined daily. DD has a few pairs, but the don't fit her well.....she's only 12 and doesn't quite fill out a ladies jean, yet. Haven't found them in the slimmer hipped Junior sizes. DH is the only one without any (for a few more weeks anyways, lol) mostly because his size isn't available on the shelf...and he doesn't want to pay online prices (twice what we can pay locally). Can't argue with Santa, though, and he's been drooling over ours for a few years now . I hit Cabela's for his with a nice coupon on top of a sale and free shipping!!

I have eyed them especially at Duluth Trading...I am a walking billboard for Duluth, from buck naked drawers and 7 year socks to Firehose / Firehose Flex pants and big swinging flannel shirts...beanie caps and coats as well.
Central Arkansas rarely gets cold and stays cold, so I have become accustomed to layers. I won't buy or wear the waffle weave long johns anymore, but invested in some Minus33 merino wool base layer tops and bottoms several years ago. Incredibly comfortable, plenty warm for here and I can get days of wear out of them before needing to wash. If I get too warm, I can strip the base layer and still have my outers...with fleece or flannel lined pants you are stuck unless you have some other pants with you.
All that said, I will still likely end up with some lined pants in the future. There are some days here that I could see them being nice. As we spend more time at our property near Marshall, AR I could see them being handy more often.

Never heard of them before but not surprising considering where I live.
I'm sure they are great in cold climates but they sound like we'd die of heat exhaustion if we wore them here in Texas -- even in the winter.

Do they have flannel lined shorts for us in Florida to wear in the winter?

I'm planning to buy their firehose pants because basically they're indestructible and would do well in Texas (where I'm from). Cabela's shoes suck. They're not flexible or comfortable. They also don't come in my shoe size. 10 4EE.

Before I got my lined jeans, I wore flannel PJ bottoms under my jeans. They were not as restrictive as long underwear, but not as comfortable as lined jeans. If the weather is wet &/or windy, I wear large warm up pants over them--the kind like windbreaker jackets. If it is really gruesome outside, I have lined nylon windbreaker pants. By keeping the lower extremities protected, I don't need as heavy a jacket. Jeans, pant protectors all from Good will.

Yeah, it's the same for me. I tried a couple pair of the lined jeans, many years ago. I didn't like them. I Gave them to my brother. I think he gave them to Goodwill.
He didn't like them either.
Different strokes for Different Folks, I guess.
I guess they are Great, f you like them......

We only heat our house to 60 degrees...so they are very helpful when we are sitting around doing school and such. Agreed, on active moving around busy days, they can get a bit warm. But then I'm at home so I can change to unlined jeans as needed I'm also the kind of person that if my legs get cold it's an uphill battle to ever get warm again....and sitting it a tub of warm water is pure torture not pleasure so that is not a solution to being cold.

Another vote for Duluth Trading Co. Either Ballroom Jeans or the Firehose jeans. The later ones are nearly indestructible. My hubby likes the gusset allowing the boys a bit more room. He is a trucker and alot of thse guys wear them.

I got mine from Running's Farm & Fleet. The first pair were only $20.00 Now they come a little more dear. I got my guy a pair last year, and just yesterday, he got another pair for Christmas. He was most excited about them.
I ride in the winter with them. Can't be beat for winter riding, or just working. I used to wear flannel jammy bottoms under jeans but the lined jeans are better. You don't stuff bunching up on you.

I took my 14 year old son to Modell's Sporting Goods to get some sweat pants and what did I also find? Fleece and flannel lined jeans and canvas pants (cargo and carpenter) for $20 each!! I got him a pair of fleece lined jeans and canvas cargo pants and plan to go back tomorrow for a pair for myself. I'm not sure if you have a Modell's near you but if you do, GO!
Wait! They have them on the website too!

An FYI for any of you close enough to get there. Duluth Trading has an outlet store in Belleville, Wi. Never know what exactly you'll find but the first time we walked in, 3 years or so ago, I got firehouse pants that were already 1/2 price for an extra 50% off. They cost me something like $16/pair and I'm still wearing them a couple days a week. Most stuff is at least 1/2 off and we're planning our next trip for sometime in January.

Husband wears his lined work pants for late fall, then lined pants and long underwear for winter. He loves the lined pants except on days when the temps change dramatically- much easier to remove long underwear and keep working than to remove pants and keep working.
