They are thinner than they used to be, but not bad. The best flannel I've ever had was from Garnet Hill catalog, softer and softer until it wore out. But was expensive. I've been settling for LL Bean and the Company Store, as it's a good balance of price and quality. But when I'm feeling flush I'm going to get sheets from Garnet Hill again!
We sleep under flannel in 90 degree heat. I think it breathes so much better and doesn't get gross if you sweat, you know that awful cold wet pillowcase at the nape of your neck? We can also drop 30-40 degrees in the middle of the night.
