I went to an auction yesterday. I picked up a large wooden holder for my oil lamp for a buck! My daughter went to the auction with me and we had fun and lots of laughs during the day.
It was a very nice way to spend the day.

Got home at 1:45 AM from babysitting grandkids. Threw goats some more hay, let dogs out/in and went to bed. Breakfast, fed dogs out/in and milked the goats. Waiting for people to pick up their dog that I have been taking care of
and then to lower farm to get ready for a family who are coming to butcher a lamb.
Hubby away until tomorrow, really need to clean the house..we'll see!

Fixed the mower, then mowed the yard. Serviced and changed all filters on the tractor. Filled holes in the yard, raked leaves.

Got up this morning and made DH and I oatmeal with cinnamon and sugar and he had coffee. The rest of the day I have been cooking. I made chili and cornbread so DH could have it during the football game. I started preparing tomatoes and vegetables to make tomato soup to can, and then I made sour cream apple cake. That and pumpkin pie ice cream is what we had for dessert. Then I cleaned up the kitchen. It was a very productive day!

I manage a farm.. do not own it. But the pay is pretty good We sell poultry feed, (grains grown on farm, processed here etc), eggs, beef, chickens, turkeys, heirloom seed (mainly to large buyers like Fedco, Albert Lea etc). Farm is 165 acres near Wash DC so the market is flush w/ cash hehe. Sometimes we sell hay, but most of it is used on farm.

Well, heck. On the days I do a bunch of stuff, I forget to post it. Then there are the days like today...in which I did a bunch of nothing.

Yesterday we finished setting up a new pen for the goats. We turned them out there today and they are as happy as goats in a patch of blackberries.
And now you all know why I chose bramblefir for a screenname!

Just got done raking 30 acres of hay, our final cutting of the season. Going to bale it up after lunch, then get the grain head on the combine to pull in soybeans tomorrow.

You folks are way more energetic than I am LOL. For some reason I am having trouble getting my motor started for the second day in a row. Yesterday I mowed pretty much all day and then fell into bed. Today I am doing some house work, laundry and working on getting moms room ready for her to come live with us.

What did everyone do today?
I worked at my job (6 days a week) laundry, raking, then ran errands and corn maze. But the bulk of the day was spent helping our little foster dog acclimate. Poor thing was most likely abused. But we have the remedy and all the time in the world.

Put a peck of apples in the dehydrator, made a half gallon of sauerkraut, roasted pumpkin seeds, dh picked up a brand new smoker from craigslist for $30, went to Moms to bring her the pumpkin seeds, and made Sunday dinner: Baked chicken, roasted Brussels sprouts, sweet and spicy buttercup slices, baked potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce. Baked apples for dessert.

Yesterday was church, raking and more raking and playing with the dogs. The new foster one is coming out of her shell. But she still cowers. It was fun to watch the two of them race around the yard, fast little terriers that they are..
I'm dehydrating apples also. The ones I picked from the tree had tons of spots on them (almost past their prime) so I spent a lot of time cutting those out.

I love how some of you post, I've had a pretty easy day today, and you have done more in a day than most people do in a month. Busy, productive people you are.
Yesterday I watched DGS half of the day, went home and did chores, made mac and cheese for dinner, and then DH had problems with his vehicle and we had to drive all over the "country" to find a starter for it. He was working on it until probably 10:00 at night in the dark. He finally got it going. Today DH is having a load of wood delivered for siding on his pole barn. Once he gets that on, the pole barn will be pretty much done except for windows, door, etc. He really wants to get it finished before snow comes.

............Finally purchased a used Miller crackerbox a\c welder to use fir small projects I have in mind . Ordered a 30 amp\30 foot power cord so I can move the welder around as it has wheels on it . I haven't actually welded anything for the last 8 years so it will take a little time to re establish my 'feel' for maintaining the proper arc to make two pieces of metal actually become one .
............A\C welding is different than DC so I'll have to adjust to that as well . Atleast now I can actually accomplish something instead of just watching TV in my Rv. , fordy
