I researched and it looks.like what i called red is brown. Brown goes where red normally would, blue where black went and black where yellow went.
If you wire it not using that control box you are going to let the blue smoke out of it

w or m it doesn't matter
C =yellow
A= red
M or W or whatever couldn't see it behind the other wires clearly= black

I'm still not sure what your old auto control box looks like.
Most well pumps are installed with a box just like yours or with a current relay inside to switch the start and run side of the motor.
Any automatic off and on stuff is done with the power going to the pump control box by wiring through the pressure switch.

And yes installing the new pump on the old box may be a problem. The start cap may be different, you may even have a run cap in the old box that is not needed on the new pump and you may have a current relay in there that could mess things up as well.
I would strongly recommend using the box that came with the pump.

Wiring box to new pump did not work. He figured out how to get the pressure switch wired up between the control box and breaker. We have running water! Now.....we just need a real bathroom in the cabin. Tired of running back and forth to the camper. At least we arent having to run 10 miles away to our friends house to fill up two dozen gallon jugs from now on!
