Is the pipe centered between 4 chunks of concrete? I would guess there used to be a windmill there. We had a similar setup. The windmill would pump the well and fill the concrete tanks.

A bit anticlimactic, but I gave the pipe a gentle tug and it came right out of the ground. Maybe it's a marker for something?

Didn't make much headway with the cement pit either. It's so covered with limbs and briars, I can't tell what's going on with it. It seems to be 10 feet long 4 feet wide. I'm halfway considering getting a goat just to clear the briar patch off it.

If it was close to the cement I would say it was a marker for it.

My guess would have been a for an underground fuel tank too.

But I guess since it isn't connected to anything . . . . . maybe at one time is was connected to Tinknal's underground find!!

How long have you owned the property? Any underground tanks are to be told by the seller. How long did the previous owners own it?
