We have a double-barrel Vogelzang woodstove, with single-wall stove pipe. The upper barrel has 50' of 3/4" copper-tubing coiled in to that heats water for our radiant heated flooring.

The stove cost under $100 brand new [both barrels were given to me for free].

We have about $100 invested in stove-pipe.

And another $100 in copper-tubing [plus a lot more for circulator pump, thermal-bank and PEX under the floor].

Do not let anything combustible to be within 3' of it.

Cant beat the $6 price for each four foot section of pipe, plus you do get quite a bit of heat off of the pipe as well.
So long as you have plenty of clearance, single-wall stove-pipe works great.

Our roof is steel, we have no attic. So our stove-pipe easily passes through our roof without any combustible materials near it.

We try to get the exhaust gasses to be as cool as possible before they leave the house. I do not want to be wasting heat by letting it go outside.

Be sure to consult with your fire insurance carrier, first. Never heard of an insurance company allowing a barrel stove in a living space. Hey, I don't have a problem with your setup, but I'm not insuring your house, either.

I have heard stories about national companies that refused to insure them.

Sometimes it is best to focus on local companies.
