My mom and I were in another state-and she locked her keys in the car! I don't know what it would have cost us if I hadn't had AAA. W/the plan that we have, it didn't cost us a dime.
We were with my mom & dad in Tennessee. Dad locked his keys in & it cost him $90 to get them out.

The good thing about them is that it is the "member" that they do the procedure for not the member's vehicle. So your membership covers most anything you are driving - RV''s and assorted big rigs excluded.......
Wife just use our membership for my Gson's car breakdown, only thing was that she had to be there to sign the paperwork.

We have been with Allstate's towing service(better world) for 8 years. We have had every tow truck driver tell us how much faster Better World pays and pays the tow truck drivers a higher price. Therefore we have gotten much faster service compared to AAA.It is also less expensive than AAA,and I do not get constant requests to receive the magazine.

That's why I got a membership many years ago. Pre-9/11 I got an eSaver offer for a $275 round trip non-stop flight to Paris. I had an unused passport and I called everyone I've ever known in my life to see if I could get a buddy to take off with me but no one had the ability to just and go so quickly so I went alone. Not speaking a lick of French and having never ridden public transportation, I went to the local AAA office and bought a membership then asked them to book a hotel for my trip.

I kept the membership for a couple of years but cancelled it after I had a flat tire and it took forever to get someone to come out and change it. I was so tired of waiting I broke out the owners manual and learned to change one on my own.

You see us as you want to see us - in the simplest of terms and the most convenient definitions.

According to the little tag on my keychain, I've been a member for 42 years. I've hardly had to use it except for the last 2 years. 3 fairly long tows and a couple of lockouts so far this year. It must be the advancing age of the vehicles. Yeah, sure.

Got the Canadian version, CAA, membership in march. 6 days later I had to pull over on the side of the highway in Metro Montreal because of an overheating engine. Turns out the fan died.

Best timing ever.
