I think id find out pretty soon in my big garden, OR yours lol.

So, your gardens 100ft long. How wide is it?

That front area where we grow corn is 100x110 ft. Our main garden area in the back is about 70x70. We are fazing out growing most vegetables in most that area and have planted a newhigh density orchard (we have other producing trees in other parts of the property) in about 5/8 of it. We will still grow some crops within the orchard. Garlic, onions, and taters work well for us in between the tree rows. The area left is our 30x20ft high tunnel and a smaller area thats about 25x20 that we will vegetable garden in. We are moving away from most vegetables in our market garden operation in favor of fruit. Fruit sells extremely well here and is far less work. We will still do some long keeping vegetables for sale like onions, garlic, beets, carrots, potatoes. In the summer we will do peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant in the high tunnel we enclose into a greenhouse. And then we will do the corn up front and melons in a seperate 50x50 orchard in a different area of the property. But we are moving away from veggies in general. They are a loss leader for us most of the time. We make good money on the fresh fruit and canned fruit and other preserves like pickles and sourkraut. Eggs and honey sell really well too.

I saw some invented high wheel tillers on a previous page. If you shop around on craigslist, particularly, you can find these tools and you don't have to make one.
I bought one for $45 and it works great. The new ones go for about $100. Kind of crazy to spend that kind of money when the old ones work just as well. I found the bigger the wheel, the smoother it works. Only difference between the old ones and today is time, not function. They still do the job as well as they did then.

I also found a site which makes all the parts for old plows so you can replace most anything on them old horse drawn plows you may need. Wood included.

Lots of stuff on this site including retro-fitting your appliances to 'crank'. Still sell 'brand new' treadle sewing machines too!
