I'm in the process of setting up shop in Trout Creek. Jobs are tougher to find, but cost of living is low. My wife and I both work from home for companies with a global presence, and count that as a huge blessing every day.

Land is cheap, winter are long, people are very friendly, and it's absolutely beautiful.

Well Howdy to both of you. We are all neighbors. I am in Williamsburg just a dozen miles from TC. I am 6th generation here.
I have visited all over the U.S. of A. and any time I am gone for a week or more I start feeling strange and it doesn't let up until I am back here and see one of these wonderful bays. I met an older man last summer that was telling two of us about when he was a younger man he was a chauffeur in Traverse City and one time he had picked up three Japanese business men from the airport and was driving out around East Bay. Three times they asked him to stop and they got out in their dress clothes and walked out into the bay and were picking up water in their hands and drinking it. They were amazed to see so much fresh water. They had to test it three times to believe it was all fresh water.

Traverse City is a place I try hard to avoid during the fudgy (tourist) season. Also Gaylord is gridlocked with the stinkin tourists. . . . .Who all drive bumper to bumper like the rush hour traffic in the big burgs down south.
Yet all the merchants work hard to woo the tourist MONEY...........

Yes this past winter was brutal . . . . .And for the first time ever I thought about being a snowbird. . . . .Slap my hands for ever saying that.........

Think I'll go out back and watch nature. . . . .. .nothing like it..............
