I went out and threw some bags over a few of our dwarf fruit trees that are starting to leaf out and showing buds. My husband asked me if it would help them and I told him that I honestly didn't know but had to try. When all is said and done it is in mother nature's hands and God's control over mother nature so either we will have an apple crop this year or not. That's the way it goes.

Luckily, most of the trees in our orchard are just starting to show leaf buds so I hope they are safe. I threw a thermal blanket over my young garden so hopefully it will survive.

We had snow until around 1 pm today. Nothing stuck but it sure wasn't something we wanted to see at this point in time.

I was just thinking to myself that doesn't it just go to figure - we have a lunar eclipse/blood moon going on tonight and, of course, it's going to be snowing so no chance of seeing it. Naturally. Typical Pennsylvania.

We were hit so bad with ice and snow they canceled school. Our county has no more salt or sand. They have to wait for it to melt.

Hey! get rid of that snow, we'll be in ME for 6 wks but that's in Aug. Staying in a cabin on Worthley Pond, East Peru. We were there 2 yrs ago & loved it so going back.

As far as spring goes here, we had that same 80s and last nite had a freeze warning! ACK! got all my zukes & cherry tons & some flowers covered w/extra mulch, coffee cans, plastic then towels...prolly smothered them!

Gorgeous day yesterday and about 80 degrees with high winds. Today it will be raining all day and drop down into the low 20s with sleet and snow and then low 50s Thursday and on. I was just enjoying the warm spell.

Pretty much the same here, high 70s, low 80s the last couple of days, snow on the ground this morning. I'm not complaining, though ... I'll take all of the colder weather Mother Nature wants to send me. Once it gets into the 80s, my outside time is seriously limited ... I can add enough clothes to work outside when it's cold. Mid-80s and I'm in the house in the A/C no matter what needs to be done outside ... it's stay inside or get sick. I push it and first headache, then queasy ... then it goes to stomach cramps and dizzy ... and I'm down for 2 or 3 days. Very frustrating.

Whow! Bummer. I would take 95 over 25 degrees any day of the year.

I get like you described when I dehydrate. Dr. couldn't figure out why I was dehydrated so badly then remembered that he had put me on a diruetic.

Stopped the pill, no more problem.

I wanted to get my seedlings in the ground, but I'm glad I didn't get to. Forecast says 27 degrees tomorrow morning.

I had a green house/garden shop owner once tell me that anybody in our area (zone 5) who planted their seedling plants before May 1 were just asking for trouble. He explained that the soil temps around us do not rise to a temp sufficient to support the roots and stimulate them to growth before then and you stand a higher risk of them not thriving. As tempting as it is to plant early, I always wait till May 1 to plant my tomatoes and above ground plants. It sure saves a lot of time covering and uncovering new plants.

I've tried everything everyone has suggested but I suspect it may have to do with the fact that I sweat a lot but with the high humidity, no evaporation and no body cooling. My body temperature will actually be above normal by a couple of degrees when I come in if I try to push it. Didn't have the issues even in Nevada when I lived there, although nobody worked out in mid-day in the summer there anyway, at 110 degrees or more, no matter how low the humidity was, but didn't have a problem in MT unless it got into the 90s.

It has been in the high 70s mid 80s for about week. Last night we had a big front come through lots of heavy rain and some hail. Temperature ran about 27 last night. To night we had a home game ta the baseball field. It started at about 57 and by the end of the game it was 43. The wind was right in our faces and I have no idea what the actual wind chill was but probably around 35 or so.

We dressed very warmly but it didnt help. It was cold cold cold!!!!!!! We have another night tomorrow with the same temps expected. I may not go!!! So cold, I really feel for the guys.

This was the forecast for last nights snowfall. I am south enough that I did not get any snow. But wow just look at Northern WI. And last week they got 14 inches as well, and now this on top of that.
