I was enjoying being out in the woods 2 weeks ago cutting up some of this deadfall without having to worry about chiggers or ticks, but guess its warmed up enough, What's always worked for me is Deep Woods Sportsmen Off Bug spray. That is the 30% DEET stuff. Regular deep woods off (25%) works on occasional strolls but if your gonna be sinning in the vegetation you need the heavy stuff!!!!

Be glad!

Just a word of warning. If you're allergic to sulfa drugs, DO NOT put sulfur on your skin!

I got chiggers really bad a couple of years ago, and I wasn't sinning in the vegetation either! I do not remember what I used, but it worked! I hardly itched at all.

Have killed 3 here so far this season (not on me yet!), and it's been cold (by local standards) and wet. Not an auspicious beginning!

I was hoping the cold weather would get rid of the chiggers and ticks this year, but we've already had several ticks.

I find the skin so soft works, or any oil put on your skin as it seems they can't move through the oil. After working in the garden or woods, I find a shower will also prevent them from latching on. Another help is to eat garlic - but that tends to keep away people also.

That might not be a bad thing.

Had a nurse practitioner from England She didn't know it either until she got several. Now she does.
