Diesel vs. Gas... Diesel will store longer than gasoline with ethanol. With gas, you may end up cleaning the carburettor quite often, as gas doesn't last longer than 30 days without falling apart and leaving residue.

I always put a conditioner in my gas - put it in the tank - run it for awhile - leave it like that all winter - never have a problem - sta-bil has a marine version that is good for boats too -

Look into propane conversion. Can be cheaper.

On a gas tractor, I always turn the gas off and let it die, no gas sits in the carb....James

We had an 801 with a loader on it and the select o speed tranny. Was pretty handy for a little Ford.

You can get manuals for the tractor and transmission off ebay. I have both from when I owned one years ago.
