longhaired cat...brush, brush, brush and then brush..or be prepared to find hairballs everywhere..BTW, for non-cat people, "hairballs" look like feces, but smell like what they are..undigested hair mixed with stomach contents..

I had a friend take care of my longhaired cat for a week while I was on vaction..he reported back to me that the cat was "pooing" everywhere..no he wasn't..it was hairballs..ugh.

Once a month I give my cats several licks of vaseline..they love it..it's not enough to block absorption of food, but just enough to help prevent the formation of hairballs..

Well milk might not be good for cats, but they like it enough.....anytime I come to the house from the barn with a bucket in my hand they nearly take me down.

My cats get dry good grade...chicken and rice dog food....scraps in the bowl.....the other night it was kale and rutabega and the pot likker ....they gobbled up their half and the Pyrenees licked her bowl clean. My great aunt raised a kitten on turnip liquor. It made a big fine cat that lived a long life.

I always had to squirt mine with milk while I'm milking, to keep them from trying to get in the bucket.
