So how is the plumbing situation going?

That isn't too difficult to learn or practice on. If you make a mistake, you get wet.

Electrical issues, like I think you had last year, are a lot trickier, but plumbing you should be able to tackle as it gets warmer.

Is it plastic, plastic tube, copper, galvanized?

I'm a guy, so while I'm interested in the conversation, my goal is to find a so.ution. I do understand you just want to vent and commiserate..... But I'm a guy, I need to see some results, some improvement.....

Paul

Paul,

I couldn't tell you any of those things for sure. We had a guy that came by today (a friend from church) and he fixed the leak. We now have 2 drains that are stuck, but I'm sure that won't take much either. I'm sure you have all probably seen the movie the Money Pit? It was filmed (or should have been) here in my house. LOL

That part is better. The rest will remain the same until we can save up enough, (working on it) to buy a furnace and afford to have it put in. Spring is coming and that's probably when that will be done.

Maybe you could get a kerosene heater something like this...

http://www.homedepot.com/p/DuraHeat-...3#.Us4Bw9JDsqM

Sometimes they have them used on Craigslist and Ebay. Models like Kerosun Omni 105 , Koering KC-19, or Dyna Glo

If you consider this route make sure you can get kerosene at the pump nearby. It's much too expensive to buy prepackaged by the single gallon at a store.

They also are a good backup heat source if power goes out.

Yep

We have a kerosene heater, and have 1 gallon of kerosene for emergencies, but Kerosene is way to expensive here to get very much of, so it is absolutely just for emergencies. Electricity out, propane gone, etc. Thanks though!
