thanks top, i lived fulltime in my 88' shasta travel trailer with my homeschooled son, two large dogs and our cat nearly 10 ears ago when i first moved off grid. no slide out and our beds had to be pulled in each morning. his was the dining table and mine the sofa i remember that time very fondly and wish we'd never started construction of the log cabin. i'm familiar with the 12 volt system and can install my own 12 or 24 volt array.

don't know if i want to sell my jeep to buy a pick up. i gave my 2005 sierra gmc away to a monastery when i ordained. though the jeep is a gaz guzzler. some things will need to be sorted out with time. a dear friend told me to go live with her when this is sold. her house is in the burbs in florida and very roomy with a large fenced yard. things are starting to fall into place... good thing they are not made of glass.

maura your homestead sounds lovely. i hope you have a smooth time selling it. if i finance the deal, it will be a few years before i am ready again.

I traveled with two cats and never had an issue with smell using scoop able litter. They did get out occasionally - would definitely microchip. Since it was my primary residence, the interest was tax-deductible as mortgage interest, and I sold it for what I paid for it (class a lightly used). RV parks are usually quite affordable and worth it for the amenities, and I also parked with family and friends. Got to park free at job sites a couple of times also. I really enjoyed the experience, and it sounds like you will too.

You can join Yahoo groups for homesteaders in particular areas or states. Then you can ask questions. I'm on the Texas homesteaders group. I know there is a group for the Ozarks.
