Ron it is really not about saving money it is about wastefulness. I just feel very wasteful buying zip lock bags and wax paper only to use it once and then toss it out. The same thing about the newspaper, why buy it and toss it out, it seems so wasteful when it can be used for other things.

Yes, I can use the zip lock bags again but they really are not that hygienic when reused. Dr Oz did a show once on it and talked about how washing them really did not sanitize them completely and how washing them actually broke the structure of the plastic down and made it go into the food. I don't want to eat that junk. I know, it is silly and really a non-issue when you break it down and split hairs comparing the minute dangers of plastic and those of reused newspaper but I like to stay as natural as I can and I don't like wasting money on junk that I do not really need.

Tupperware has made a safe, sanitary and reusable sandwich container for years and it keeps food much fresher than old newspaper.

I had one. I lost it in the Sandy Flood. I will find one again at the yard sales eventually.
