Jim ~ I went to the hatchery today to pick up my 50 Light Brahma chicks...Nothing makes me more contented than that happy chirp the chicks have when everything is GOOD.! It is one of my earliest memories as my parents were farmers as were most of the people I knew for many years..Grandpa was a veterinarian & died before I was born..'39..Grandma was a gardener & a pal for grandkids..On my mother's side Grandpa was a Swedish immigrent who came to Mn. in 1893 to work to build the railroad..he bought the farm where my mother was born & where my sister & her hubby live now..Mom is 97 & happiest enjoying flowers shes grown...It has been a wonderful time following after this people of mine...My grand daughter calls me Grannie Over The Hill to designate which grandma shes talking about...I just hope I can infect her with the passion to look under the rocks & name everything she sees growing..& wonder at it all !! So anxious for the grand sons to come see my beautiful chicks...A great life God Bless Y'all GrannieD

For us both of our grandparents had farm/homesteads, our parents hated the life and got jobs, (well my dad didn't hate it, but he wanted more I guess) both of us have wanted it most of our lives.
