BY THE WAY PP. The people I asked about the 140 said its around a 79 model. I think that's pretty close to the end of production.

More pics youll notice behind the Case is a loose hay loader. The close up of the Cub is to try to show that its a demonstrator model. First painted all white at the factory, and later red at the dealership,

Thanks for posting pics bill ,But you have proved a point that old iron is nothing a young woman needs to be on as a first time tractor owner . That's all I'm trying to say while it may work for an ol hand such as yourself it in no way is safe as a learning rig for the new homesteader just trying to get started .or one who has a hammer and a small tool box to keep it running.

GOM I still disagree. IF a woman got a RESTORED OLD tractor, tween 50 and 60 shed do fine with no more problems than on a newer ono, and likely MUCH less

I feel the same way about a steam engine. Would love to have one. Got no use for one.

Bill your showing pictures of a baler that won't tie and the cub wont move so how does that prove that folks should seek the old equipment?

Buy what ever you want to and can afford. It's a free world. If you ain't got enough patience to maintain older equipment you don't need it.......However, some folks have the ability to use older stuff to get their work done.....some don't like payments, some don't like to waste money.

Cub moves fine. I just have to kill it when I stop and have it in gear when I start iot up lol. I ordered a new pressure plate and clutch disc, and will take it in to a mechanic the first of the week.

Youll remember, I said RESTORED, old tractors. Mine wernt.

but then she's back up to the cub price, you've bought parts they don't exactly give them away, and the rebuilder would like a little something for there trouble....lol

Don't get me wrong until a year ago my newest tractor was a 74 model 1170 case the next newest was a 62 model 602D Minniapolis Moline, my baler is a 88 model 605 vermeer.

But I maintain them and go through the hay equipment every winter replacing anything that even smells like it will fail...lol The case was overhauled at 5480 hours and the minnie was good until 6200 hours.

Old iron is fun to work with but you better be mechanically inclined just because of the stresses of age on the metal. Someone not familiar and comfortable with the way mechanical things operate and behave are setting themselves up for failure trying to use that old of equipment.

I posted the pics to prove I had/have farmed. I wouldn't recommend d a Cub Farmall to ANYBODY. There as bad as a Ford, just about. When they work, they run fine, BUT IF you have carb or clutch problems, or likely any other problem, There hard to fix.

That's the nice think about a mule, the plow hooks up to any of 'em! Course with some of 'em you might have a hair raising time! They nearly always start......stopping might be trouble though.
