Title Question

I sold a car one time, and luckily had signed and dated (and notarized) the title. The next day, the guy got in an accident. I knew nothing until a month later when the State sent me a notice that my license was being revoked for being in an accident and not taking responsibility. I went down to DMV and got it straightened out, and they gave me an official receipt. Good thing, because many months later I got a $3000 towing and storage bill! The turkey still hadn't transferred the title. Make sure you have official proof of the date of the sale.
