1. I've seen more than one tractor broken, because guys would bog their tractor down and try to romp and rock them out, or otherwise do something that overtaxed the hydo, and then your transmission is broken.

2. When you break it, it's harder to find someone to work on it and it's more expensive to fix.

My 2 cents, YMMV.
That's one of the best things about a FEL. Love my 4x4 drive too.

Well, I finally got a chance to talk to the fellow about the tractor.

Basically what I got from his is that everything works great and as it should, there are only 2 problems of concern.

1. The front axle seal leaks, which I can't imagine is TOO hard to fix,

2. the big one, the engine has developed a knock, about 2 weeks ago. and from my research it coudl be something as simple as air in the injection lines which is a cheap and relatively easy fix.. to as bad as a broken rod and needing a whole new engine.

I don't know enough about these engines to begin to narrow down the source of the knock, so I'll probably have to pass on the tractor. I don't know what it would cost to rebuild/replace the engine, but I'm certain is isn't cheap.

Looks like the search will continue
