Your slam on us was uncalled for. What do you expect when you go for throats?

None of us have made snide remarks about you. We kept it open on the forum and on the up and up and said it like it is. Oh, excuse me, KincoraFarm pm'd you to try to stop you from making an @$$ out of yourself but in spite of her attempted help (that you seem to call snide) you chose to attack her and make an @$$ of youself anyway.

This isn't flaming, it's a fact: Hmm..... seems you posted the same thing, about not reading this, in a previous message.

I made a very tasty frozen pea salad for supper. I used ground beef, peas, macaroni and lots of onions and garlic with seasonings. Oh my... it was so good and I'm stuffed. A cold meal on a hot day is very refreshing.

I guess it will be steak tonight but both of yours sound much better. I just got my garden in last week and I'm getting antsy for some fresh veggies but it's going to be a while yet

Mike, it's amazing isn't it? I don't understand why people do stuff like that to animals. My mother had a poodle before I was born. This dog had it's "hair" done weekly, had a complete wardrobe, and she painted her toenails....please. It's a good thing I came along and she had a real baby.

Supper is simple and easy tonight. DH and I are alone, youngest DD is working, so we cheated and got a garlic pizza. I love garlic pizza (especially when it's loaded with basil) but it's "signature scent" lingers for some time....

I have a complete Sunday dinner to cook tomorrow because the whole family will be home. Oldest DD is bringing her SO too.

I forgot to say that I added sour cream instead of mayonnaise. It depends on your tastes and what you want to add to make it tasty for you. Crumbled bacon adds an excellent taste to frozen pea salad with sour cream.

Waiting for a garden to grow can be so..... difficult. I'm rooting for you and your garden wr! Guess it would be better for you if your garden rooted for you instead of me!

I keep one of my smaller investment funds earmarked for care and maintenance of my pets and animals. Why? Its very simple. My animals are finer people than many of the humans I come in contact with on a daily basis. I prefer the company of a well mannered , truthful animal to that of a trashy person any day.

Speaking of tomatoes ...

Why are my heirloom tomatoes, which I've so lovingly nursed along from seedhood, about a quarter of the side of those storebought brands? in fact, i have storebrought brand volunteers coming up everywhere which are bigger than my heirlooms?

And why are the leaves on my forsythia turning yellow? :waa:

No dinner, not yet. I did some mowing today and swear I gave myself heat prostration. So it will be a late night dinner for me.

That sounds really good, I'd have to leave out the macaroni---we're doing the low carb thing. Hmmm, ground beef.....I never thought of putting that in pea salad. Gonna try it.

So, here's a huge thumbs up for kincora and wr --- you're doing great work on that forum. And I see absolutely no justification for the criticism being launched at you here.

*back to lurking on the equine forum* :yeeha:

I second that!!! :worship: You two are great!!!

I think eb is feeding the troll. It seems to thrive of that kinda stuff, since krispy kremes obviously do not intrest it in the least.

A cold KK is still a wonderful thing. My oldest DD lived in Rochester, NY while she was attending college and told me all about the warm KKs...in a throughly annoying way. Going on and on about the "green light"....and eating them fresh and warm. I would gain serious weight with a store nearby because I like them just fine cold.

I bought heirlooms for the first time this year...they're Brandywines. Their leaves are kinda odd looking. Well, anyway, they take about 100 days to mature that's way longer than the store bought plants. I FINALLY got the entire garden planted early last week and the squash planted in the manure pile (it's the best place to grow squash) I'm kinda glad I got it in late because we had a frost after Memorial Day this year. Most everything is sprouting already (except the parsnips) and from the looks I'm going to have a bumper crop of pole beans. I ordered all my seed from PineTree this year...and I'm very impressed.

Can't help you with your forsythia bush...sorry.

I got that recipe from a co-worker. I'd never thought of it either. Your imagination is the limit. I did my ground beef in fairly large chunks so I'd know I had a mouthfull of beef.

I worry about the carbs too but seem to crave pasta from time to time. Any dish with pasta seems to satisfy the craving.

The recipe my co-worker gave me (for the benefit of those that eat pasta, directions are added):

Boil pasta accordinng to directions on the package while you're browning up the ground beef with whatever.

Take the cooked beef mixture off the heat add the cooked pasta to the ground beef that has been browned with seasonings of your choice. Depending on your taste, onions, oregano, parsley and celery leaves or your favorite spices work well.

This is when you add the defrosed frozen peas. After adding the peas add mayonnaise or sour cream to taste.

If you're extremely hungry you can eat it right away unless the peas are frozen solid. If you're making it for later refrigerate it and enjoy a cold summer salad.

I planted a few blue potatos this year. They look pretty in salads but they tend to be pretty scary looking if you mash them. I'm not sure what kind of yield I'll see so I only planted 10 or 15 hills.

comfortablynumb, it's sure nice to see you around again, I was pretty worried you were going to leave us for good.

The only peas I have in the freezer have butter sauce. Do you think they would be OK?

Okay, yea, I was wondering if that was what's going on. The leaves on mine are actually really pretty --- I wish I could remember what variety they are ::blushing:: because just as plants, these are lovely little things!

So ... dinner so far ... I'm having a shot of Fernet Branca in filtered water with crushed mint from the porch garden. I'm on a big immunity-digestive thing this week, and Fernet Branca not only packs quite the wallop , it's filled to the brim with all kinds of secret herbs. I don't drink usually, but FB isn't like alcohol (although it'll sure put hair on your chest ).

Looks like dinner tonight will be ... hmmm. I don't know. i had a late lunch (roasted chicken [free range, antibiotic free, of course] with a heaping helping of hot sauce and some steamed broccoli. I'm still not hungry --- of course, my little runin with heat prostration earlier hasn't helped. I'll likely be wanting fried bananas again around 10 pm. Looks like I'm on a kick.
