Preprunner is right about anodes causing problems and gas water heaters have anodes too. Try changing the anode in the problem house anode should cost under 20$ and are easy to change.

that is something to try, I thought the rods were just part of the electrical workings, didn't know all hotwater heaters had them. I will make that change to aluminum TY
