The simple solution to your problem is simply to not wear clothes while doing yoga. Shower well after and reinstall your nice, clean, non stinky clothes.

Might be a bad idea for me.

When I get into some yoga position and can't get out of it, the situation will be doubly embarrassing when the paramedics arrive and want to know why I'm all bent up like that AND naked.

Do not try to do the bidalasana pose. That's probably what makes the evil smell.

I put one of those tabs that is supposed to go into the dish washer when I have some really foul smelling clothes..... Use it instead of the laundry soap and bingo! Fresh and new! Works good on musty smells too!

And I promise- if I have to go in public after yoga I do shower first. I wouldn't inflict my sweat on any other innocent soul !!
FYI TIDE is perfect for cloth diapers too. There a silly rumors not to use enzymes when you wash cloth diapers, but in reality enzymes are the only thing that will kill bacteria in cloth diapers and clothes.

I have this problem, too. I have found that Odo-ban liquid added with my laundry soap and again with my fabric softener will get rid of the "summer funk" stink. I have gotten gallon jugs of Odo-Ban at Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware in their home cleaning section.

It is totally a synthetic thing because I have the same problem with some of my work clothes. And only the ones with synthetics in them. My work is stressful and I get "stress sweat". Smells different, very fruity, than working outdoors sweat. I know, TMI! I wash the shirts twice and hang them on the line. Homemade laundry detergent. I used to spray the armpits with vinegar and water, it helped better than vinegar in the wash.

eBay... at a premium...

Back in the 1970s I had a deal with a dry-cleaner owner... long story (not involving Clinton). Anyway, I gave him a few clothes that were part polyester to clean and they came back stinkin'. It NEVER came out. Sometimes you just have to throw things away.

Yes! I do throw out work shirts before they visibly look ratty. Sometimes there is no return.

From what I understand...eating copious amounts of GMO foods really cuts down on stinky, sweaty output...just food for thought.

I'd rather do yoga naked.

I cant throw the clothes away-unless I bought new all natural material. Lord knows where to find that or what it would cost. I can make a brand new tank stink in a hot minute.

Alice I am not aware of consuming a lot of VitB. Think I should opt for more ? Or less??

When I hiked the Appalachian Trail, Cotton came clean and smelling great. Synthetics retain odors. My Backpack reeks to High Heaven to this day, and my hike was 4 years ago. Clorox in low levels for synthetics work well.

I thought eBay put an end to that sort of thing long ago.

Ooops. Just checked. Apparently not.

Hemp, woo, or cotton for me. No synthetics.

I think it even says something about that in the bible. Probably in Leviticus.

"Thou shalt wear no synthetics lest thine aroma offend thy neighbors."

That's in the Book of Ernie, perhaps.

Please do not take offense, I mean no insult with this suggestion. How about the formula for pets that have been sprayed by a skunk?

1 cup of baking soda
1 quart of hydrogen peroxide
couple of squirts of dish soap to lather the mixture

If it works on skunk spray maybe it would work on sweat?

You guys crack me up.

I work part time at an organic farm where the owner hires young ag university students to tend the gardens all summer. There is one particular girl who absolutely wreaks of perspiration odor. Luckily I don't work with those kids but now and then we do get together. The unusual part is that she appears to be 22 - 24 yrs. old and beautiful. Maybe her odor is why she's still single. But she's one of those girls that is a natural breath-taking gorgeous lady. One day I talked to her and the topic came up about her BO problem and she readily admitted that she prefers her natural smell over anything that comes in a bottle or can. Strange. Very strange.

Ernie-I just happen to be looking for a new church.

Y'all are gonna think I walk around smelling like a skunk (no offense taken!). I swear I meet knew my sweat could smell like that. And it's not ME physically. It's my clothes ! I'm going with the idea that synthetics are like GMOs; offending the masses and killing us a. (Actually I should spend more time worrying about what we wear but heavens, even I have to give myself a break every once in awhile!).

And I've got friends (casual) who refuse to wear anything to cover their natural scent. I've seen them carry rags and bandanas in their pockets on wipe the sweat from their pits. Hey-to each his own ... I just stick with the homemade coconut oil deodorant. I still love them but totally agree with my moms opinion that patchouli was given to the hippies because its the only thing that covers BO.

I'm one of those "natural scent" folks. Occasionally I do smell like barbecue sauce, diesel fuel, or gun oil but those aren't scents that come in a jar.

In your situation, Miss Paisley, I don't think it's YOU that stinks but rather your clothes.

What happens if you leave tomatoes in a plastic bag? They rot, right? What happens when you put tomatoes in a cloth bag? They last a long time!

Synthetic clothing is like that plastic bag. It traps moisture and provides a breeding ground for bacteria, which then ferment and stink. The "odor" people smell is the fecal matter of millions upon millions of bacteria that are trapped in your clothes. Charming, eh?

I've noticed that people who just stink in general often have a diet high in processed foods. I can smell them in a crowd. Blech. They're sweating out a bunch of toxins and the bacteria that feeds on that sweat are the nastiest kind.

So it's not you ... it's that cute little aerobics outfit you found on sale.
