Survey is needed but if you are just looking at the land and deciding what parts makeup "about 75 acres" a tool like this will work http://www.daftlogic.com/projects-go...lator-tool.htm that way younare not sitting there pacing 75 acres which will be even less accurate! Just plot some points adjust around and try to get the best parts you can without it looking like a congressional distric map! Id try for 4 corners if possible or at least follow a stream or ridge or something.

You can also go to ArcGIS Viewer and map off the 75 acres also....I did this when DH was wanting acreage from his mom's estate. We wanted the land adjacent to our farm. The program is free and it will get you down to almost the exact acreage you want. When we had the surveryor come out and do the actual work...I was almost spot-on with they came up with.

edited to add it will measure square yards, feets, kilometers, acreage etc

was able to check the acreage of my pasture.
