Just picked up some 'scovies yesterday. Quiet, tasty, and really low maintenance.

But some ducks will eat mosquito larvae in water.

I have not seen a tick in years. We have chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. I have had guineas in the past ( and will have more next month!) too. When I had guineas, not only did I never see a tick, but we had no fleas either! Our flea situation has gotten so bad I had to resort to getting more guineas.

I don't particularly like the guineas either. Mine were like a bad street gang. Every day the would gang up on one or another of their flock and knock the snot out of them. Even knock them out of a tree ! Then they would nest out in the fields instead of roosting in the trees or shed and start to disappear. Like others I will have to incubate some eggs every few years to replenish the supply.

Don't forget guineas will help keep the snake population down too!
